      EVENT DETAILS
      2019 Rutgers Environmental Stewards Commencement

Join us in celebrating another year of the Rutgers Environmental Stewards program at our annual Commencement! We will recognize our 2019 course graduates, certify Stewards who have completed internship projects, and learn from each other about solutions for current environmental problems facing New Jersey communities. We are extremely excited about this year's Commencement agenda! We'll hear from Stewards who tackled climate change education, wood duck nest monitoring, forest regeneration, and water quality assessment .. just to name a few!  We will also have a poster session highlighting certified RES projects and plenty of networking time.  KEYNOTE SPEAKER Michael Waas, Global Vice President of Brand Partnerships, TerraCycle, Inc. Michael Waas is the Global Vice President of Brand Partnerships at TerraCycle, an international leader in collecting and repurposing difficult-to-recycle waste. TerraCycle engages tens of millions of consumers in 20+ countries, has recycled billions of pieces of waste, and pioneered recycling solutions for some of the world’s most challenging waste streams. In 2019, TerraCycle launched Loop, a global platform that allows companies to shift to a durable supply chain through a reuse model. Michael joined TerraCycle in 2008 and helped lead TerraCycle’s global expansion by developing award-winning sustainability partnerships with companies in diverse categories including: P&G, Colgate-Palmolive, Grupo Bimbo, L’Oreal, General Mills, Clorox, PepsiCo, Frito-Lay, Mondelez, AstraZeneca, Kimberly-Clark and more.
